The highly anticipatedJurassic Worldhas cast its villain, and its not exactly a T-Rex this time around.  Deadline reports thatVincent DOnofriohas landed the antagonist role in directorColin Trevorrows follow-up, about which we know next to nothing.  One assumes the dinosaurs will still be the main threat for the films protagonists as DOnofrio will likely be playing the pics human foilpossibly a person favoring monetary potential over the human life, though its also possible that Trevorrow has crafted a decidedly different feature in which a human character is actively controlling/using the dinosaurs to attack the core group of heroes.  Hit the jump for more, including news of another cast member being added in a supporting role.

:The Wrapreports that Khan will be playing Patel, the billionaire owner of a new Jurassic Park, while DOnofrio will play the CFO of the Patel Corporation.  DOnofrios character projects the image of a normal family man to mask a hidden edge.  Our original story follows below.]

In addition to the casting of DOnofrio,Irrfan Khan(Life of Pi) has been set in a supporting role forJurassic World.  Khan was first mentioned in connection with the projectlast year, so this is more of a confirmation that breaking casting news.As for DOnofrio, this marks the first major villain role in a prominent feature for the actor since 2000sThe Cell.  He led the successful TV seriesLaw & Order: Criminal Intentfor a decade until the show came to a close in 2011, but hes been booking roles in interesting projects ever since.  He recently wrappedThe JudgeoppositeRobert Downey Jr.and will star oppositeLiam Neesonin the thrillerRun All Night.

Trevorrow co-wroteJurassic WorldwithDerek Connollybased on an existing script byRick JaffaandAmanda Silver.  The cast is led byChris PrattandBryce Dallas Howard, who are joined by youngstersNick Robinson(The Kings of Summer) andTy Simpkins(Insidious).  Expect more casting announcements soon as the film gears up to start production in April.Jurassic Worldwill open in 3D on June 12, 2015.
